Erica Cañas earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University College of Law in 2007. As a law student, she was a member of the Board of Advocates, and a certified legal intern for the Office of the Public Defender, Miami-Dade County, Florida, as well as for the Carlos J. Costa Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at FIU College of Law. A humanitarian at heart, Erica also served as the President of the Human Rights and Environmental Law Society. Prior to law school, Erica earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in International Relations, with a Minor in Psychology, from Florida International University.
